Dover Chemical MAYCO BASE CF74 Chlorine Alternative, Severe / Stainless Operations

Material Notes: Mayco Base CF-74 is an oil soluble extreme pressure additive designed to replace chlorine in heavy-duty applications. It has found good success, especially in stainless operations of deep hole drilling and turning. As Mayco Base CF-74 is non staining to the yellow metals, it also can be used on both sides (cutting and lube), of automatic screw machines It is recommended to replace chlorine in a cutting oil on a one-for-one basis with Mayco Base CF-74. An example would be 4% of a 50% chlorinated paraffin in a cutting oil, yielding a total of 2% chlorine would be replaced by 2% of Mayco Base CF-74. Successful replacements of up to 15% chlorine have been achieved in cutting oils. Mayco Base CF-74 is not recommended for use in water dilutable product formulations (soluble oils, semisynthetic, and synthetic fluids). In those types of products, Mayfree 133 would be the better choice. Also, the selection and incorporation of any additional fatty materials must be carefully made. The use of low acid containing Prime Burning Lard Oil or Methyl Ester 165 is recommended.
