Material Notes: Description

Chevron polystyrene resin MC3600 crystal is an easy flowing, crystal clear polystyrene injection molding compound, designed specifically for thin- and medium-walled parts of any size or complexity. MC3600 combines greater processing latitude, exceptional mold release and the overall good molding characteristics required by such parts. MC 3600 provides improved cycle times, better stackability, reduced dusting and fewer part rejects. Processing energy requirements can also be reduced. Chevron MC3600 crystal complies with Food Additive Regulation 21CFR177.1640 for polystyrene and rubber modified polystyrene, which states that such materials may be safely used in contact with foods.

The Chevron Phillips polystyrene product line was transferred to Americas Styrenics in 2008.
