Claytone 40 is a modified montmorillonite designed to be used in aliphatic and aliphatic/aromatic systems that exhibit low to medium polarity. Claytone 40 functions as a thixotropic rheology modifier generating properties such as flow control and anti-setting. Claytone 40 provides reliable and reproducible rheological properties in solvent based paints, stains, enamels, primers, and inks as well as other applications.
