Milliken® Millad® HBPA Hydrogenated Bisphenol A
Categories: Other Engineering Material

Material Notes: Description: Hydrogenated Bisphenol A (HBPA) is a saturated diol produced by catalytic reduction of Bisphenol A. While similar in structure to Bisphenol A, it undergoes most of the reactions typical of secondary alcohols. It is supplied as a white, flaked material which is soluble in a wide range of organic solvents.

Application Information: Millad HBPA is used in the preparation of alkyd, polyester, and epoxy resins where good color stability and improved weatherability are important. Resins systems containing HBPA demonstrate improved color stability during cure and improved corrosion resistance and exterior durability over corresponding Bisphenol A containing resins. Areas of application include casting, laminating, coatings and fiber production.

Chemical Formula: C15H28O2

CAS No: 80-04-6
