Lanxess Addovate® SV PU Additive
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: Emulsifier and crosslinker for the production of cellular Vulkollan.

Product information: Addovate SV is used as a crosslinking agent in the manufacture of cellular elastomers based on polyester polyols/Desmodur® 15 by hot casting. The water component serves to promote the propellant effects. To improve dispensing characteristics, a crosslinker should be manufactured containing approx. 10 parts by weight of the polyester polyol also used for the prepolymer (OH value approx. 55). The proportions used should be 2.0 parts by weight Addovate SV to 100 parts by weight polyester polyol - if not otherwise recommended. The crosslinker should also contain the catalyst, e.g. Addocat 105 E (0.01-0.06 parts by weight) or Addocat PP (approx. 0.2 parts by weight to 100 parts by weight polyester polyol). Using a catalyst reduces dwell times in the mold. Cream time can be delayed by adding Addovate DD 1092 (approx. 0.2 parts by weight to 100 parts by weight polyester polyol). The water content of Addovate SV must be taken into account in the recipe.
