Solvay LTM® 45EL Epoxy Prepreg
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Epoxy

Material Notes: Description: LTM45 series pregregs consists of a range of low temperature curing epoxy matrix resins giving pregpregs with elevated end use temperature performance and good hot and wet strength retention. The range encompases LTM45 with an initial cure temperature of 50°C (122°F). All the resins within the range exhibit similar thermo-mechanical performance when fully cured. LTM45 and LTM45-EL are the most commonly selected prepreg resin systems from this range. For improved oven vacuum processing LTM45-1 is recommended as an alternative to LTM45EL when used with carbon fabrics up to 285 g/m2. LTM45-1 provides improved toughness and compression properties.

Features & Benefits:

  • Low initial cure temperature at 50°C (122°F)
  • Rapid cure at conventional temperatures
  • 180°C (356°F) Tg after suitable post-cure
  • May be processed by vacuum bag or autoclave (also see data sheet PDS1082 covering LTMS45-1 in detail)
  • Available with a wide range of woven and unidirectional reinforcements including carbon, glass, aramid specialist fibers and hybrids
  • 180°C (356°F) service parts molded direct from low cost masters
  • Good mechanical properties
Product Variants: LTM45ELFR- Fire resistant version of LTM45EL

Note 1: Material: LTM45EL/T300 unidirectional tape; Cure cycle: 24 hours at 60°C (140°F); Post-cure: 2 hours at 120°C (248°F)
