Sumitomo Bakelite Varcum 29101 Phenolic Resin

Material Notes: Varcum 29101 is a one-step lump phenolic resin.

APPLICATION: Multi-component, baked metal-coating formulations.

FEATURES:

  • Excellent compatibility with modifying agents.
  • Permits the use of relatively high percentages of phenolic in phenolic-epoxy formulations.
  • Phenolic-epoxy formulations exhibit all the flexibility inherent in epoxy resin coatings.
  • Phenolic-epoxy formulations provide improved chemical and heat resistance compared to epoxy resin coatings.
  • Phenolic-epoxy formulations offer markedly lower cost than epoxy resin coatings.
  • Formulating ratios are not critical, and the proportion of phenolic resin to modifying agent can be varied over a wide range to obtain optimum coating characteristics.
