Wacker Belsil® RG 100 Crosspolymer
Categories: Fluid; Polymer

Material Notes: BELSIL® RG 100 elastomer gel is an organosiloxane polymer dispersed in cyclopentasiloxane. It is a semitransparent gel that functions as a thickener in formulations while delivering smooth applications. Under shear stress BELSIL® RG 100 thins and allows easy incorporation of cosmetic ingredients like pigments.

Special features: BELSIL® RG 100 is easy to distribute on skin and gives a nice, non-greasy, silky skin feel. Evaporation of the volatile silicones leave a non-tacky film which improves the water resistance of formulations.

Application: BELSIL® RG 100 is a non-emulsifying elastomer gel that is supplied as a 20% active solution in cyclopentasiloxane. It provides a substantive hydrophobic film, making it ideal for use in sun care formulations. In lipsticks and foundations, it improves transfer resistance. It also can add a cushiony feel to powder formulations. BELSIL® RG 100 makes cosmetics easier to apply by adding lubricity. It can be used to thicken the oil phase of emulsions or anhydrous cosmetic formulations.
