Chemours Teflon® C PFA Grade 580 Static Dissipating Semiconductive Resin  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Fluoropolymer; Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA)

Material Notes: Teflon® C PFA resins are available in 2.5-mm (0.1-in.) pellets. These fluoropolymer resins (perfluoroalkoxy) combine the chemical and hightemperature resistance of Teflon® PFA with antistatic levels of electrical conductivity.

Properly processed products made from Teflon® C PFA resins provide the superior properties typical of the fluoropolymer resins: retention of properties after service at 260°C (500°F), useful properties at –196°C (–320°F), and chemical inertness to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents. Molded products have moderate stiffness, excellent toughness, low coefficient of friction, nonstick characteristics, resistance to creep at high service temperatures, and excellent weather resistance.

These resins can be processed by traditional extrusion and molding processes. They have high melt strength and thermal stability at high processing temperatures.

Three grades of Teflon® C PFA resins covering a broad range of Melt Flow Rates (MFR) are available. The low MFR resin provides a higher degree of stress crack resistance while the high MFR resin is easier to process.

Applications

Applications for Teflon® C PFA include extruded tubing, pipe, and other profiles for hose; linings of components used in the chemical processing industries; industrial film; and injection- and blowmolded articles requiring superior electrical, chemical, and thermal properties.

Chemours was formed from former DuPont performance chemicals businesses, including DuPont Fluoroproducts, in 2015.
