| Product Description: Retarder PX is an oil-treated phthalic anhydride. This non-discoloring retarding agent is utilized to reduce scorching of rubber compounds at processing temperatures and is most effective with thiazoles (MBTS, MBT, and ZMBT) or activated thiazole type systems. A typical loading is 0.5 - 1.0 phr. Retarder PX has little retarding effect at curing temperatures and does not bloom with recommended amounts. Phthalic anhydride is acceptable under FDA regulation, 177.2600, rubber articles in contact with food (oil treatment on PX is FDA acceptable as well).
