ChevronTexaco ECO® SAE 40 Heavy Duty Motor Oil
Categories: Fluid; Lubricant

Material Notes: Features:

Chevron ECO Heavy Duty Motor Oils are formulated to be environmentally responsible engine lubricants.

They use the highest quality re-refined base oils and specially selected additives designed to provide excellent performance in all recommended applications.

They contain an effective detergent dispersant to keep sulfated ash to a minimum. They are fortified with oxidation and corrosion inhibitors, high temperature antiwear additives, and foam inhibitors to protect vital engine parts from scuffing and protect the bearings from corrosion.

Chevron ECO Heavy Duty Motor Oil SAE 15W-40 is designed to meet the warranty requirements of most manufacturers of diesel engines. The high alkaline reserve (base number) effectively protects bearings and other engine surfaces from the corrosive effect of acids formed by the combustion of high sulfur fuels.

Applications

Chevron ECO Heavy Duty Motor Oils:

  • exceed the requirements of Caterpillar Series 3 and are recommended when the sulfur content of the fuel is unknown or exceeds 0.50%.
  • exceed the Mack EO K/2 specification. Mack’s preferred recommendation is SAE 15W-40.
  • meet and exceed service requirements for Cummins and Detroit Diesel engines when recommending these viscosity grades.
  • are recommended for all turbocharged engines where the manufacturer specified a Caterpillar Series 3 oil.
  • are not recommended for Electro Motive Diesel engines with silver bearings.
  • can also be used in gasoline passenger cars and light trucks.
