Teijin PYROMEX® CPX 1.6d 320K Poly-acrylonitrile Carbon Fiber
Categories: Carbon; Carbon Fiber/Carbon Fibre

Material Notes: Pyromex® is a family of oxidized poly-[acrylonitrile] (PAN) fibers. These fibers have a Limiting Oxygen Index (L.O.I.) of between 50 - 60% oxygen, making Pyromex® much more flame resistant than many other organic fibers such as PBI® (41%), Nomex® (30%), or Kevlar® (28%). For carbon/carbon applications such as aircraft brakes and automotive clutches, the low sodium content of these fibers may aid in processing and performance. These are aerospace grade products manufactured in the USA (Pyromex®-A) or Japan (Pyromex®-J) to an approved PCD.
