LyondellBasell Pro-fax EP315J Polypropylene Copolymer
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polypropylene (PP); Polypropylene Copolymer

Material Notes: Pro-fax EP315J is an electrical grade polypropylene copolymer selected for use as primary insulation for applications with demanding performance requirements. The resin’s robust additive package provides enhanced thermal stability during processing and long term service at elevated temperature, and also helps prevent degradation from copper. Pro-fax EP315J meets the requirements of the following: ASTM D 4101, Group 03, Class 4, Grade 8. Applications: Wire & Cable

Extrusion conditions: Die double angle, 10-25 % oversized relative to outer diameter of insulated conductor being produced. Insulation homogeneity and surface smoothness depend on maintaining adequate head pressure. If necessary, increase the head pressure by using a smaller die or tighter screen pack.
