Selenis VENUZ BD 186 Copolyester for Cosmetics Packaging
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polyester, TP

Material Notes: Selenis Venuz BD 186 has been specifically developed for the cosmetics market where outstanding clarity, great performance and easy processing is the target. Cosmetic parts molded from Selenis Venuz BD 186 provide good chemical resistance to most ingredients used in the industry as well as good barrier properties, helping brand owners grant product safety and preservation during storage. Packaging cost may be reduced as shelf life can be maintained even without the use of additional PP-inserts as usual in SAN and PMMA thick wall jars. The clarity of Selenis Venuz BD 186 allows packaging engineers to design parts from thin to thick walls without sacrificing transparency. The combination of density and thick walls increases the weight of the package, reinforcing the consumer perception of a high-end quality product. Selenis Venuz BD 186 provides good impact resistance, resembling the appearance of glass, allowing unique and personalized designs. Selenis Venuz BD 186 copolyester is the ideal choice for thin wall injection molding applications. Due to the high flow characteristics of this material short cycle times improve efficiency and lower cost per part. For packaging containers, a minimum wall thickness of 0,6 mm can be targeted using Selenis Venuz BD 186.
