Universal EB-2 is a 1.25% chromium 0.5% molybdenum alloy designed for submerged-arc welding of base metals of similar composition. Deposits have high strength and excellent creep resistance. Applications include large diameter pipe and pressure vessels. Preheat, interpass temperature and postweld heat treatments are required for optimum mechanical properties. Mechanical properties depend upon various welding variables such as the flux used, the preheat and interpass temperature, the heat input and postweld heat treatment. Information provided by Universal Wire Works for their line of welding wire and filler metal. |
