LyondellBasell Petrothene® YR19513 Polyolefin Wire and Cable Compound
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polyolefin

Material Notes: Applications
PETROTHENE YR 19513 is a colorable, thermoplastic, non-halogenated, flame retardant polyolefin compound designed for use as striping for chemically crosslinkable automotive primary and appliance wire applications.

Regulatory Status

Processing
YR 19513, like other thermoplastic polyolefin compounds, can be extruded by a conventional extruder. YR 19513 crosslinks when peroxide vapors pass into the thin stripping made from this product from th4e main body of crosslinked insulation. Additionally, since the striping is on the outside surface of the insulation, it is exposed to the high temperature steam in the crosslinking process for the maximum amount of time.

This product is from the former Equistar product line.
