Mallard Creek Polymers Rovene® 4201 Carboxylated Styrene-Butadiene Emulsion
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Rubber or Thermoset Elastomer (TSE); Styrene Butadiene Rubber

Material Notes: ROVENE® 4201 is a carboxylated styrene-butadiene emulsion that has a stiff or "boardy" hand. This binder is recommended for use as a crosslink-able binder for durable nonwovens such as floor maintenance pads and roof shingle mat. ROVENE® 4201 may also be used in coatings where a very hard binder is needed. This polymer does not film form under ambient conditions but will fuse into a film at temperatures above 120° F. The latex may be cross-linked with melamine-formaldehyde resins to form a very hard non-blocking film.
APPLICATIONS: ROVENE® 4201 is recommended for applications where a very stiff (hard) binder is needed, along with the potential for cross-linking with external resins is required. It may be used in coatings where a very hard non-blocking binder is needed.
