Solvay RHODAFAC® RE-610 Surfactant
Categories: Fluid; Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: Description: Extremely versatile. Moderate foaming. Good electrolyte tolerance, coupling properties and hard surface detergency. Useful in heavy-duty liquid cleaners of all types, dry cleaning, pesticide emulsions, and as dedusting agents for powdered detergents. Promote formation of PVAc and acrylics with film clarity, corrosion inhibition as well as light, heat and pH stability. Rhodafac PE-9 and Rhodafac R9-47A are industrial grades.

Chemical Name: PLOYXYETHYLENE NONYLPHENYL ETHER, BRANCHED PHOSPATE

CAS: 68412-53-3

Available in: Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America

Applications: RHODAFAC RE-610 can be used to prepare a broad range of commercial emulsion polymers including acrylics, vinyl-acrylics and styrene-acrylics. Such polymers find application in latex paints, adhesives, paper coatings and textiles. RHODAFAC RE-610 is typically converted to its salt form (sodium, ammonium, amine) for use in emulsion polymerization. This is usually done in-situ by neutralization of the diluted phosphate ester with the desired base. Films of polymers make with RHODAFAC RE-610 exhibit enhanced corrosion resistance and superior heat and light stability, which makes them especially desirable for metal coating applications. The versatility of RHODAFAC RE-610 allows it to be used with a wide range of polymerization techniques, including thermal and redox processes. When properly used in conjunction with other anionic and nonionic surfactants, RHODAFAC RE-610 allows for the trouble-free commercial production of extremely stable emulsion polymers.
