Master Bond EP4G-80 One component, graphite filled epoxy
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Epoxy

Material Notes: Key Features:
  • Good electrical conductivity
  • Flowable
  • Convenient packaging
  • Meets NASA low outgassing certification
Product Description: Master Bond EP4G-80 is a one component, low viscosity, graphite filled epoxy that meets NASA low outgassing requirements. This material has exceptional flow properties and can be used for bonding, sealing and coating applications. Upon curing, it combines good thermal and electrical conductivity. EP4G-80 can be packaged in syringes or jars. Syringes are shipped in dry ice, stored in a cryogenic freezer, and are specified for one time use. Upon thawing, the epoxy should be used within 6-8 hours, and any remaining material discarded. When packaged in jars, there are no shipping restrictions, although it is recommended that the jars be stored in a refrigerator. For best results, after removing from the refrigerator, jars should be used within a 12 hour time frame. The jar can then be returned to the refrigerator to be used in the same manner. Regardless of the packaging, the epoxy cures readily in 60-90 minutes at 80°C. Post curing at 80°C for 1-2 hours will optimize properties. EP4G-80 bonds well to a wide variety of substrates such as metals, composites, ceramics and many plastics. The epoxy combines good dimensional stability, superb compressive strength, along with a high modulus. The volume resistivity ranges from 50 to 100 ohm-cm. It is very flowable, and can be used for specialty applications where graphite type electrical conductivity is needed. Graphite is a desirable filler material because it is non-metallic, provides reliable performance, and is also cost effective, especially when compared to silver. It resists water, oils, fuels, along with mild acids and bases. Its color is black. The service temperature range is -50°C to +175°C. EP4G-80 is an attractive option for a variety of applications including specialty OEM, aerospace, opto-electronics, among others, where graphite conductivity and low outgassing are desirable.

Product Advantages:

  • One component
  • Will not cure until heated
  • Curing temperature 80°C
  • Low viscosity
  • Graphite conductivity
  • Passes NASA low outgassing
Best usage for syringes: within 6-8 hours after removing from freezer; discard leftover material

Best usage for jars: within 12 hours after removing from refrigerator, gently stir; return to refrigerator to be used again
