Ipiranga Petrochem PH 0320 Polypropylene  (discontinued **)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polypropylene (PP); Polypropylene, Molded

Material Notes: The production of polypropylene (PP) employs Spheripol technology from Montell / Italy. This technology has been acclaimed all over the world and is known as clean technology, because it does not produce catalyst residues (due to its high catalytic yield).

Raw materials are supplied by COPESUL. Following pre-treatment, they are sent, with the catalytic system, into two loop reactors and one gas-phase reactor. This plant produces PP homopolymer, random copolymer, heterophase copolymer and terpolymer.

The product leaves the reactors in the shape of spherical grains. The grains are sent to the extrusion site, where stabilizers are added to them. They are then turned into pellets by an extruding press. The pelletized material is first sent to mixing and storage silos. Later, this material is sent to the packaging area.

Applications:

  • flip top lids
  • furniture
  • household goods
  • spare parts for appliances
  • thick walls parts

Ipiranga Petrochem polymer product lines have been acquired by Braskem.
