Composition: 80% N-cyclohexyl-2-benzothiazyl sulphenamide based on specification, 20% EPDM binder and dispersing agents Use Characteristics: The curing accelerator Konson® CBS-80 provides a considerably long scorch time, great processing safety and a fast full cure. Konson® CBS-80 is used as a sole accelerator for the low sulphur vulcanization or in combination with dithiocarbamate or thiuram accelerators. The vulcanizates obtained have good ageing resistance and a good compression set. The scorch time of compounds containing Konson® CBS-80 in combination with thiurams and dithiocarbamates is noticeably reduced. Thiourea has a strong secondary acceleration effect on Konson®CBS-80, mainly in mixes containing little sulphur. In compounds which are accelerated with mercaptanes and thiu-rams, Konson® CBS-80 may delay scorch Processing Advantages: The thermoplastic, excellent compatible EPDM/EVA binder which is combined with active dispersing promoters allows much more easy quickly incorporation and excellent dispersion in the rubber mixing. In this way, optimal activity of the effective CBS is assured. Dosage levels: NR: primary: 0.5 – 1.0 phr with 2.5 – 3.5 phr sulphur secondary: 0.5 phr with 1.5-3.0 phr sulphur and 0.3 phr mercapto or thiuram accelerators SBR: 1.0 – 1.4 phr with 1.5 – 2.5 phr sulphur and 0 – 0.2 phr thiuram accelerator Applications: Automotive and construction profile, Tire treads, air hoses, conveyor belts, footwear and other technical articles.
