Wacker Dehesive® 919 Silicone Release Coating
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Silicone

Material Notes: DEHESIVE® 919 is 100 %, completely solvent-free, addition-curing silicone intended for coating paper and other substrates.

Special features:

  • extremely fast curing
  • low release at low peel speeds
  • medium release at high peel speeds
  • good release stability
  • solvent-free
  • good coverage at low silicone coat weights
  • suitable for coating PP and PE films and PE-coated paper
  • extremely fast cure properties of DEHESIVE® 919 allow for a very low platinum concentration
The components of DEHESIVE® 919 are in compliance with the positive lists of BfR XV. Silicones and FDA 21 CFR §175.300, §175.320, §176.170 and §176.180. However, for compliance of the release coating with the before mentioned regulations the product has to be appropriately cured using a suitable silicone crosslinker under observance of the limits for platinum.

Application: DEHESIVE® 919 is solvent-free silicones with an oily consistency and good flow properties. It is especially suitable for solvent-free paper coating. Other substrates can be rendered non-stick towards pressure-sensitive adhesives with this product, e.g. metallic tapes and plastic sheets. DEHESIVE® 919 develops optimum release properties once it has undergone complete crosslinking. Subsequent postcuring - which is needed for most condensation-crosslinking silicones - is not necessary.
