Texaco Polystar RB 2 delivers value through:- Ability to meet bearing OEM requirements — Suitable for high rpm operations, operating temperatures ranging from -34°C to 204°C (-30°F to 400°F) and offers excellent rust protection in the presence of both salt and fresh water.
- Excellent oxidation stability — Provides excellent bearing life with continuous service possible at temperatures up to 160°C (320°F). For short exposure, the maximum is 200°C (392°F).
- Corrosion protection — Provides superior water resistance and protection of bearings against rust and corrosion.
- Good low shear stability — Will not soften excessively under prolonged low shear stress.
Texaco Polystar RB 2 is a high temperature ball and roller bearing grease. It is formulated with high quality base stocks, a synthetic polyurea ashless organic thickener, and high performance rust and oxidation inhibitors (the latter to provide superior rust protection in severe applications). Texaco Polystar RB 2 is specifically designed to meet the factory-fill performance requirements of the major manufacturers of rolling element bearings. Texaco Polystar RB 2 is recommended: - For use in antifriction bearings operating at high speeds (speeds up to 500,000 DN).
- Where the operating temperatures are on the order of 150°C (302°F) and higher.
- Where there is a likelihood that water or salt water will get into the bearings.
It performs satisfactorily in bearings at temperatures as low as -34°C (-30°F).Typical test data are average values only. Minor variations which do not affect product performance are to be expected in normal manufacturing. Notes: - Minimum operating temperature is the lowest temperature at which a grease, already in place, could be expected to provide lubrication. Most greases cannot be pumped at these minimum temperatures.
- Maximum operating temperature is the highest temperature at which the grease could be used with frequent (daily) relubrication.
- Determined on mineral oil extracted by vacuum filtration.
