Sumitomo Bakelite Durez® 51010 Phenolic Resin
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Phenolic

Material Notes: Durez® 51010 is a liquid thermosetting phenolic resin of the one step type with a medium cure. It is used in the production of glass fiber filled composites. Durez® 51010 is used in combination with the maturation agent Durez® 51003. The system yields phenolic composites having excellent flame retardancy and low smoke emission. The system processes like polyester SMC with similar cycle times, molding temperatures and pressures. Note that, unlike other phenolic SMC's the Durez® system does not require acid resistant moulds.
