Pyrotek SP-160 Refractory Coating

Material Notes: Blended with water SP-160 produces a hard, highly refractory coating for fibrous ceramic or metal shapes. It is an alumina bonded refractory coating system, thyrotrophic in nature which promotes good grain suspension and easy spreading.

Applications

  • Coatings for molten metal contact surfaces such as launders and ladle liners
  • Repairing combustion chambers, furnace floors and burner blocks
  • Hardening agent for refractory fiber shapes
  • Sealing compound for filling cracks and seams
  • Repairing ceramic shell cracks
  • Mold wash for sand molds
  • Face coating for solid plaster molds
