Wacker Elastosil® R plus 4001/30 Silicone Rubber
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Silicone; Silicone Rubber

Material Notes: Product description: ELASTOSIL® R plus 4001/30 is a platinum-catalyzed addition-curing, one-part silicone rubber for manufacturing molded articles. Cured articles show an excellent transparency and good to very good mechanical properties. No peroxide split products are released during cure or postcure. The curing system is significantly faster than a corresponding peroxide cure material.

Special features:

  • easy demolding
  • dry surface
  • no unpleasant smell caused by peroxides
  • no inhibition by oxygen
Application: ELASTOSIL® R plus 4001/30 is suitable for the manufacture of molded articles. Especially thick walled articles can take advantage of the fast curing material. ELASTOSIL® R plus 4001/30 is suitable for use under the Recommendation XV. Silicones of the BfR and FDA 21 CFR §177.2600 "Rubber Articles Intended for Repeated Use" provided that the product is appropriately cured/ post-cured and the respective limits for extractable/migrating or volatile components are met.
