BryCoat WS2 Tungsten Disulfide Coating
Categories: Ceramic; Sulfide/Chalcogenide; Other Engineering Material; Ceramic/Metallic Coating

Material Notes: WS2's unique, extensively modified lamellar composition of tungsten disulfide results in a high performance dry coating lubricant. A pressurized air application processes impinges a dry metallic coating without heat, binders, or adhesives. The lubricant coating bonds instantly to any metal or resin substrate with a thickness of 0.5 µm (0.020 mil).

Benefits and Capabilities of WS2:

  • Solves problems such as friction, excessive wear, seizing, galling, and fretting.
  • Overcomes or reduces mechanical lubrication problems, improving performance and service life.
  • Maintains the dimensional integrity of the substrate to within 0.5 µm with no build-up
  • Withstands up to 300,000 psi (>2000 MPa) or load capacity of substrate.
  • Offers 100% lubricity throughout its texture
  • Is inert, non-toxic, non-distortive, non-corrosive, and resistant to most fuels and solvents.
