Lanxess Adimoll® BO Plastic Additive
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: Adimoll® BO is a low-temperature-resistant plasticizer suitable for a large number of polymers, inclusive polyvinyl chloride (PVC), rubbers, nitro- and ethyl cellulose, and polyvinyl acetate (PVAC).

Chemical composition: Benzyl octyl adipate (BOA)

CAS reg. no.: 58394-64-2

General Adimoll® BO is characterized by

  • a very good plasticizing effect when used with PVC, PVAC, NBR and other polymers.
  • a low viscosity, which, in combination with its weak ability to solvate PVC, has a positive effect on the initial viscosity and storage stability of plastisols.
  • a good compatibility with a large number of polymers.
Adimoll® BO imparts
  • very good low-temperature resistance to suitably plasticized compounds; this effect is clearly noticeable even when Adimoll® BO is used in combination with other plasticizers.
  • very good rebound resilience to PVC and PVC / NBR blends.
  • very good light stability to PVC compounds.
Applications: Adimoll® BO is used for a wide range of articles based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), chloroprene rubber (CR), ethylene-vinyl acetate rubber (EVM) and ethylene-propylene copolymers (EPM). Adimoll® BO is also compatible with nitro- and ethyl cellulose, polystyrene and natural rubber. It has a limited compatibility with cellulose acetate butyrate and cellulose propionate. It is particularly beneficial to use Adimoll® BO when very good low-temperature resistance and light stability are required, together with high elasticity. Typical fields of applications are coatings (including spreading), calendering, extrusion, injection molding and adhesive industry.
