Glyptal 9921 Conducting Paint
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Adhesives, Sealants, and Coatings

Material Notes: GE 9921 GLYPTAL Green Conducting Paint was designed for equalizing voltage stress on electrical insulation surfaces to prevent or decrease corona damage.

SUGGESTED USES

GE 9921 is suggested for equalizing voltage stress on the insulation surfaces of cables, transformers, and rotating equipment. It is not suitable for normal paint-type applications.

It is used for coating insulation surfaces to prevent of decrease corona discharge and resulting damage. 9921 will conduct these high voltage charges to ground due to its low surface resistivity. Such voltages are induced on the on the outside of high voltage coils of generators and other electrical equipment.

APPLICATION

GE 9921 may be applied by brush or spray. This material should be constantly agitated during use. Surfaces to be painted should be clean and dry.

Reduction: Brush or Spray- Use at can consistency for application under normal conditions.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Surfaces to be painted should be dry and free from dirt, wax, grease, rust, and oil. Remove grease and oil by washing surface with mineral spirits.
