Akrochem Antioxidant MBI
Categories: Other Engineering Material

Material Notes: Product Description: Antioxidant MBI is a non-staining, non-discoloring antioxidant for use in natural and synthetic rubbers (EPDM, NBR, SBR, CR and others). It provides excellent protection against heat and oxygen aging, especially for articles where flex degradation is a concern, when combined with other antioxidants. Additionally, a synergistic effect is observed when employed with amine, quinoline and phenolic type antioxidants, as well as phenylene diamine antiozonants. MBI can act as a metal deactivator. It is not suitable for food-contact rubber products. MBI can be used as the heat stabilizer for polyethylene and polypropylene.

Application: Antioxidant MBI provides improved protection against rubber poisons (copper and manganese), especially in combination with amine type antioxidants, or phenylene diamine antiozonants. For general applications, the typically dosage range is 0.6 - 1.5 PHR. For heat resistant thiuram cured compounds, 2 - 3 PHR is used, or 1 - 2 PHR in combination with 1 - 2 PHR of other antioxidants or antiozonants cited above.
