Lanxess Addovate® SM PU Additive
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: Emulsifier/Stabilizer for the production of polyurethane polyester flexible slabstock foam, rigid foam as well as a crosslinker for cellular hot casting elastomers.

Product information: Cellular elastomers: Addovate SM is used as a crosslinking agent in the production of cellular elastomers based on polyester and NDI by hot casting. To improve dispensing characteristics, a crosslinker-mixture containing approx. 10 p.b.w. polyesterpolyol (OH-value 60), approx. 2.0 p.b.w. Addovate SM, approx. 0.2 p.b.w. Addovate DD 1092 and as catalyst Addocat PP, should be manufactured. Polyester flexible slabstock foam: Addovate SM is used in an aqueous catalyst compound in conjunction with Addocat DB, Addovate WM and paraffin oil. As an emulsifier, it works in the same way as Addovate WM and improves the dispersion characteristics of the individual catalyst and reactant components in the mixing chamber. Addovate SM primarily keeps the crosslinking reaction under control. It also has a stabilizing effect during the foaming phase.
