Wacker Elastosil® LR 6291 A/B Liquid Silicone Rubber
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Silicone; Silicone Rubber; Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR)

Material Notes: ELASTOSIL® LR 6291 A/B Liquid Silicone Rubber is a two-component, solventless system that cures rapidly upon heating to a tough silicone rubber. It has been formulated as a low viscosity, heat resistant, general purpose fabric coating.

Special features:

  • High durometer hardness
  • Good tensile strength
  • Good elongation
  • Non-blocking
  • Good adhesion
Application: Cure is accomplished by simply mixing equal parts (1:1) by weight of part A and part B. Oven cure at 172 C-200°C (340 F-392°F) for one to six minutes depending on oven, coating thickness and type of fabric used. Curing may be retarded and prevented by: nitrogen compounds such as amines and amides, sulfur compounds, anti-aging additives and other additives in rubbers and plastics, etc. Therefore, a materials compatibility test is always recommended.
