Filler metals of this classification are most often used to weld UNS 21900 base metals. This alloy is a nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel exhibiting high strength and good toughness over a wide range of temperatures. Deposited weld metal is not subject to carbide precipitation due to the Nitrogen alloying which inhibits carbide precipitation in the weld zone. Information provided by Universal Wire Works for their line of welding wire and filler metal. |
