Material Notes: Applications
PETROTHENE NA 204-000 is a general-purpose resin recommended for intermediate and light-weight coating applications at high speeds. NA 204-000 can be drawn down to weights of 2.0 lb/ream at line speeds of 1200 ft/min. on a variety of substrates including paper, foil, cellophane, polyester film and other base stocks. NA 204-000 yields excellent adhesion and heat sealing characteristics and low neck-in. It is recommended for general-purpose flexible packaging, foil mounting, laminating and aseptic packaging.

Regulatory Status
NA 204-000 meets requirements of the Food and Drug Administration regulations 21 CFR 177.1520 and 21 CFR 176.170. These regulations (respectively) allow for the use of the olefin polymer in "…articles or components of articles intended for use in contact with food; "or as components of the uncoated or coated food-contact surface of paper and paperboard intended for use in producing, manufacturing, packaging, processing, preparing, treating, packing, transporting or holding aqueous and fatty food." Specific limitations or conditions of use may apply.

Processing Techniques
The maximum recommended melt temperature for NA 204-000 is 625°F. More specific recommendations can be made only when the processing equipment, conditions and end use are known.
