Bethlehem Steel ASTM A514 Grade P >2-1/2 to 4 in. thick, steel plate  (discontinued **)
Categories: Metal; Ferrous Metal; Alloy Steel; Low Alloy Steel; ASTM Steel; Carbon Steel; Low Carbon Steel

Material Notes: A514 is an alloy steel grade, fully killed, fine grain. It is heat treated by quenching and tempering. The specification permits 18 compositions, of which Bethlehem produces Grades B, H and P. Its normal uses are industrial applications where high strength, low weight and high impact values are required. Machinery, mining equipment and other demanding applications.

The following are suggested consumables for arc welding processes for 2.25 to 4 in. thicknesses: For Manual Shielded Metal-Arc (AWS A5.5) use Low Hydrogen Electrodes E10015, E10016, and E10018. For Submerged Arc (AWS A5.23) use F10x-Exxx. For Gas Metal-Arc (AWS A5.28) use ER100S. For Flux Cored-Arc (AWS A5.29) use E10xT.
