Danquinsa EMULTROL® E-164 Adhesive
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Adhesives, Sealants, and Coatings

Material Notes: EMULTROL E-164 is a hydrogenated rosin ester emulsion that is solvent-free and APEO free. Its main function is to improve adhesion upon non-polar substrates and polymeric dispersion cardboard. The product is excellent compatible with acrylate dispersions, polychloroprene, latex, SBR, and NBR emulsions. It is highly stabilized against the effects of oxidation and the action of ultra-violet rays. The emulsion is comprised of extremely fine particle sizes. Due to this a scratching of the agitator vessel and the substances, where the finished adhesive mixture will be applied, is prevented. Because of the fine particle sizes, EMULTROL E-164 is also very stable in the produced dispersion mixtures. The addition of additives with a highly acid pH may cause the emulsion to become unstable. Equally, the addition of cationic substances should be avoided.

Application: The resin emulsion EMULTROL E-164 is used for the adhesive equipment of aqueous adhesive and adhesive coating systems. This emulsion can be added to different based aqueous adhesive dispersions to achieve a permanent adhesiveness on bonding surfaces of the films with good contact properties and to achieve a corresponding long open time. A typical application for this emulsion is for example the modification of aqueous primer dispersion adhesives for the coating of adhesive stripes, labels, film materials and protective films. We can specially recommend EMULTROL E-164 for adhesives, where it must be given a high hydrolysis and ageing resistance.
