Phillips 66 Sulnap® ISO Grade 22 Cutting Oil
Categories: Fluid; Lubricant

Material Notes: Description: Conoco Sulnap Cutting Oil is suited for general-purpose machining operations, such as turning, boring, planing, shaping, light- to medium-duty threading, sawing, hobbing and gear cutting. It can be used for machining ferrous and nonferrous metals, such as carbon and alloy steels, brass, bronze, copper, magnesium and aluminum without the danger of corrosion. Copper-containing metals may discolor slightly. Sulnap Cutting Oil is manufactured with high-viscosity-index paraffinic base oils blended with a chlorine-sulfur additive system. It protects metals from extreme pressures by forming metallic compounds on the face of the chip and tool. It also acts as a lubricant by reducing friction. As the temperature increases during machining, the chlorinated paraffins in the additive system activate. Increasing temperatures and load on the surface activate the sulfur-phosphorus extreme-pressure additive to protect the tip of the tool and the machined surface. The low viscosity of Sulnap Cutting Oil helps dissipate heat rapidly from the cutting surface, producing less discoloration and distortion and providing the necessary cooling for high-speed machining without excessive fogging.
