Covestro Texin® 285 Thermoplastic Polyurethanes (TPU)
Categories: Polymer; Thermoplastic; Polyurethane, TP

Material Notes: Texin 285 resin is an aromatic polyester-based thermoplastic polyurethane with a Shore hardness of approximately 85A. It can be processed by injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding.

Properties / Applications: In addition to good clarity, Texin 285 resin offers outstanding abrasion resistance, impact strength, toughness, and exibility. Texin 285 natural color resin complies with FDA food-contact regulations 21 CFR 177.1680 (Polyurethane Resins) and 177.2600 (Rubber Articles Intended for Repeated Use), subject to the limitations of these and any other applicable regulations. Typical applications include belting, tubing, hose, cable jackets, hose jackets, seals, athletic soles, casters, mine screens, film, and extruded profiles. Texin 285 resin can also be used as a polymer modifier.
