ASTM A588 HSLA Steel Grade B, Thickness < 100 mm (4 in.)
Categories: Metal; Ferrous Metal; Alloy Steel; Low Alloy Steel; ASTM Steel

Material Notes: HSLA (High-strength low-alloy) steels are used for their higher strength and atmospheric corrosion resistance. They can be considered to be microalloyed steel and are designed for mechanical rather than compositional specs. ASTM A588 has atmospheric corrosion resistance quadruple that of carbon steel. Used in welded, bolted, or riveted structures, especially bridges and buildings in which its strength and durability is required.
