Varcum 29344 is a two-stage, epoxy-modified, powder phenolic resin containing hexamethylenetetramine curing agent. APPLICATION: A general purpose resin for the manufacture of various types of grinding wheels. FEATURES: - The epoxy resin modification provides an internal plasticizing effect resulting in inherent bond toughness which alleviates the hard, brittle characteristics of straight phenolic resins.
- Wheel cracking and breakage are minimized.
- Excellent wheel strength is obtained with this resin, and high strength is maintained at elevated temperatures.
- Very adaptable for use in cutoff wheels to minimize wheel breakage.
- Provides superior adhesion to the reinforcement of in glass cloth reinforced wheels.
- Reduces wheel cracking and increases bonding efficiency in high density wheels.
- Provides additional bond toughness for optimum performance in any type of wheel.
- May be employed alone or blended with other powdered grinding wheel resins.
- Can be used in combination with any of the usual wetting agents, fillers and additives.
- Can be processed in the customary curing cycles.
