Magnesium ZK61A-T5, Forgings
Categories: Metal; Nonferrous Metal; Magnesium Alloy

Material Notes: Typically used for simple, highly stressed aerospace and military castings of uniform cross section. High in cost. Intricate castings subject to microporosity and cracking due to shrinkage. Not readily welded. Sometimes used in T5 temper (artificially aged), but usually in the solution heat treated and artificially aged (T6) condition to develop properties fully.

Key Words: UNS M16611; Mg; AMS 4444; ASTM B 80; SAE J465; Old SAE 513 (Ingot UNS M16610)
Vendors: Visit metalmen for your metals needs. Products include special chemistry, tight tolerances, custom tempers, odd dimensions/forms, and small quantities. Phone 1-800-767-9494.
