Lanxess Addocat® DMEA PU Catalyst/Activator
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Catalyst/Initiator

Material Notes: Product Information: Flexible polyether foam: Addocat DMEA is a weak, incorporable catalyst and accelerates mainly the gas reaction. The OH-value of Addocat DMEA is such that 1.0 p.b.w. of this product consumes an approximately equal quantity of TDI. At the normal dosage (approx. 0.2 - 0.4 p.b.w. on 100 p.b.w. polyol) it is not necessary however, to alter the quantity of TDI. For the production of polyether slabstock foam Addocat DMEA is used as a co-catalyst in combination with more powerful tertiary amines, such as Addocat 9727 P, Addocat 104 or Addocat 108 the dosage being 0.2 - 0.4 p.b.w. in combination with 0.1 - 0.2 p.b.w. of one of these activators each on 100 p.b.w. polyol or Addocat 105 (0.3 - 0.5 p.b.w. in combination with 0.2 - 0.4 p.b.w. of Addocat DMEA). Simultaneous adjustment of the proportion of crosslinking catalyst (e.g. Addocat SO, dosage 0.1 - 0.3 p.b.w.) enables the reaction of formulations for flexible foam to be controlled in such a way that the optimal open cell foam structure is obtained. Rigid foam: In rigid foams, Addocat DMEA is suitable as a co-catalyst for all systems except those used for spray foams. The dosage is 1.0 - 3.0 p.b.w. Addocat DMEA on 100 p.b.w. polyether polyol.

Function: Catalyst for the production of polyether based polyurethane foams, e.g. flexible slabstock foam, rigid foam
