Wacker Wacker® TN Silicone Release Agent
Categories: Fluid; Polymer; Thermoset; Silicone

Material Notes: Product description: WACKER® TN is a modified silicone fluid of medium viscosity whose special chemical structure imbues it with the benefits of silicone fluids and mineral oils. WACKER® TN is used for thermal molding of rubber, plastics and low-melting nonferrous metals. It is superior to conventional silicone fluids when the finished parts are subsequently to be painted, printed, coated or bonded. An outstanding release effect is even obtained when extremely small amounts of the release agent are used. The result is an easy, accurate reproduction of every surface detail of the molded article. WACKER® TN exhibits excellent film forming properties.

Application: For easy application, WACKER® TN may be diluted with solvents such as white spirit and aromatic hydrocarbons. To ensure optimum flow, maximum number of moldings and economic use of the release agent, it is advisable to carry out preliminary tests to ascertain the optimum concentration, type of solvent, method of application and mold temperature. Generally, solutions with a silicone content of approximately 1 % are best to start with.
