Cabot ELFTEX® P100 Specialty Carbon Black
Categories: Other Engineering Material; Additive/Filler for Polymer

Material Notes: Product highlights: ELFTEX® P100 specialty carbon black is a p-type carbon black suitable for use in pressure pipe applications, particularly those that follow ISO4427 and ISO4437 standards that specify maximum particle size, sulfur content and dispersion requirements. P-type carbon blacks are specialty blacks with narrow product specifications for applications requiring exceptional UV performance and excellent physical and chemical cleanliness.

Key applications:
ELFTEX P100 specialty carbon black is especially suited for use in plastic products requiring excellent UV protection. Key applications include:

  • Pressure pipe for potable water and gas
  • Irrigation pipe
  • Utility pipe
  • Geomembranes
Performance Features: ELFTEX P100 specialty carbon back enables low moisture absorption in the compound and its morphology delivers good processability due to lower viscosity, enabling smooth surfaces in end products. In summary, ELFTEX P100 specialty carbon black has:
  • Low sulfur and toluene
  • Low grit and ash
  • Particle size less than 25 nm
  • Excellent UV performance
For end products, it:
  • ?Enables low compound moisture absorption
  • Enables higher MFI than other p-type carbon blacks for superior processability
