Characteristics: High service temperatures (480°C), Intermediate strength, Improved high temperature strength compared to unalloyed Ti, Excellent weld fabricability, Oxidation resistance, Microstructure stability, Nonheat-treatable (contains only iron impurity as a beta-stablizing element)

Applications: Gas turbine engine casings and rings, Aerospace structural members, Chemical processing equipment

Microstructure: Equiaxed alpha - when treated/worked below beta transus, Acicular alpha - when treated/worked above beta transus, Beta (bcc) - small amounts may be present

Forms typically available: Billet, bar, rod, plate, sheet, extrusions, and wire.
