Master Bond MasterSil 930 Silicone
Categories: Polymer; Adhesive; Thermoset; Silicone

Material Notes: Key Features:
  • Paste consistency
  • Longer open time
  • Good physical strength profile
  • Superior chemical resistance
Product Description: MasterSil 930 is an acetoxy type fluorosilicone for bonding, sealing and coating. Its most prominent feature is enhanced chemical resistance, particularly to fuels, oils and solvents when compared to more standard silicones. Some of the chemicals that this product can withstand better than conventional silicones include gasoline, diesel fuel, motor oil and ethanol, among others. This system is an excellent adhesive that bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, composites, ceramics, glass as well as many rubbers and plastics. MasterSil 930 can withstand the most aggressive types of thermal cycling as well as mechanical and thermal shock. Typical of one part silicones, the curing mechanism is based on the humidity level. The higher it is, the faster the cure and thinner sections cure more quickly than thicker ones. MasterSil 930 is a relatively fast curing system, and depending upon the application, the tack free time can range from 20-30 minutes. The full cure is typically recommended to be 3-4 days at ambient temperatures and humidity. As mentioned previously, it is noteworthy for is chemical resistance properties. Included in this list are water, many oils, fuels, greases, refrigerants, along with some acids and bases. Its service temperature range is -85°F to +450°F. It is important to note that MasterSil 930 has good adhesion to silicone substrates. MasterSil 930 is useful in a number of applications in aerospace, electronics, specialty OEM and other industries where the combination of flexibility, temperature resistance and chemical resistance is required
