Versalis Europrene® 1723 Emulsion Styrene-Butadiene Rubber
Categories: Polymer; Thermoset; Rubber or Thermoset Elastomer (TSE); Styrene Butadiene Rubber

Material Notes: Europrene® 1723 is an emulsion styrene-butadiene rubber obtained by cold polymerization using a mixture of rosin acid and fatty acid soaps as emulsifiers. It is a medium bound styrene copolymer extended with TDAE oil. A non-staining antioxidant is added during the production process.

Key Features: E-SBR is a general purpose rubber characterized by good processability, mechanical properties and abrasion resistance. It has limited resistance to oil and weather but properly compounded, it is suitable for use in outdoor applications. Due to its high molecular weight and aromatic oil extension, Europrene® 1723 is the TDAE oil extended alternative to Europrene®/Intol® 1712. Due to lower oil Tg, Europrene® 1723 shows a slight advantage in rolling resistance performance compared to Europrene®/Intol® 1712.

Main Applications: Tire manufacturing and retreading, conveyor belts, hoses and other mechanical goods.
