Concrete, exfoliated vermiculite aggregate
Categories: Ceramic; Concrete

Material Notes: 0.25-0.45% drying shrinkage. Vermiculite is a flaky material, each flake formed of many layers, when heated rapidly to a high temperature the flakes open out (exfoliate) to give particles resembling small concertinas. Exfoliated vermiculite added to concrete produces an end product that is lightweight, a good thermal insulator, and fire resistant.

Key Words: lightweight aggregates
