Sandvik SAF 2205 Seamless tube and pipe
Categories: Metal; Ferrous Metal; Duplex; Stainless Steel

Material Notes: Sandvik SAF 2205 is a duplex (austenitic-ferritic) stainless steel. It is characterized by:
  • high resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing environments and in environments containing hydrogen sulphide
  • high resistance to general corrosion, pitting and crevice corrosion
  • high resistance to erosion corrosion and corrosion fatigue
  • high mechanical strength - roughly twice the proof strength of austenitic stainless steel
  • physical properties that offer design advantages
  • good weldability
  • Information provided by Sandvik
