Features Chevron CP Oil is used for both cotton picker spindle lubrication and as a corrosion (rust) preventative on steel materials in the steel industry. It is manufactured form medium viscosity index naphthenic base oils containing a special oiliness agent and rust inhibitor. These additives impart an excellent bearing “wetting” quality to the oil causing a moisture-resistant oiliness film on bushings, gears, and ferrous metal surfaces. Chevron CP Oil is formulated to provide an effective moisture-resistant film on porous bronze bushings and small steel gears of cotton picking machines, thus keeping spindles free to rotate and separate the cotton from the boll. It also provides an excellent rust protective coat on ferrous metal surfaces such as sheet steel and cold drawn bar stock when placed in warehouse storage. Applications As indicated by the initials “CP,” this product was developed for “cotton picker” lubrication and embodies excellent “corrosion-preventative” qualities. Chevron CP Oil was developed to lubricate spindles on International Harvester mechanical cotton pickers. It is equally effective in both drip feed systems and periodic flush systems that utilize porous bronze bushings. Chevron CP Oil can be easily and evenly sprayed and forms a tenacious protective film. It can be removed with any conventional industrial cleaning system, including a caustic wash or a vapor degreaser before metal plating. |
